Q. What are the different statuses and their meaning on RendezBlu.com?
A. Pending: You invited a contact and they have not replied yet.
Invite: You uploaded a contact and have not invited them yet.
Rejected: You invited a contact and they rejected you twice. You can no longer invite this contact. They can still invite you if they have gathered you on their phone.
Invite Again: They rejected your invitation once already and you have one more attempt.
Accepted: They accepted your invitation and you now need to authorize it in order to reveal the other person’s email address. Alternatively you can leave it un-authorized or delete the contact altogether.
Authorized: You invited a person, they accepted and you authorized the charge of $1.49 to reveal their email address.

Q. How do you manage invitations?
A. Go to the Manage Invites section under the Tools section. There are two different types of invitations. The ones sent by you and the ones sent to you. For the ones you initiated, and once they get accepted by the other person, you can authorize the invitation (you will be charged a small fee to see their email address), or you can just ignore the authorization (no charge).
For the invitations you receive, you can accept or reject them. If you reject it, the other person can contact you once more. If you decline it a second time, they can never invite you again and you can effectively delete them from your network.

Q. Why are you asking for my date of birth? How do you verify my age?
A. The RendezBlu.com service is only for people 18 years old and older. We do not verify your age, but you attest that you are 18 years of age and that you have read our terms and condition before using our service. Knowing your age also helps members restrict their searches to match their age preferences. You would probably agree that it would not be much fun if your dream date turned out in person to be 35 years younger or older than they had claimed online.

Q. If I invite someone for further contact, what happens then?
A. They can either accept or reject your invitation. If they accept, you will need to authorize the request as a final approval step. If you authorize the accepted invite, you will be charged $1.49 and you will see their e-mail address. From there on, we are out of the loop and you can contact that person on your own time and conditions. Please review our Safety Guidelines before pursuing contact with people you do not know. We do not guarantee you will successfully meet this person nor that they will turn out to be what you expected.. If you changed you mind about contacting the person, you will not be charged. You can simply ignore the authorization or delete the contact altogether. You can still authorize at a later time if you chose to.

Q. I invited someone today, but the profile does not show up for today on the Manage Invites page, when I select the “Invitations sent by me” option. Why not?
A. Only accepted invitations show up there so you can authorize them. Until the other person accepts your invitation, you will see it as pending on the profiles page.

Q. I authorized an accepted invitation and you’re charging me $1.49 just to get their e-mail address, isn’t it a bit steep?
A. That’s still cheaper than a couple of music downloads. How many times have you gone out and found out the person of your dreams was talking to someone else at the time? With Rendezblu you can now talk to one person and gather contacts from anyone around with similar desires to meet other people. We’ve placed all the odds in your favor for a successful meeting: You both went out to the same place at the same time. You both had the RendezBlu application scanning and your settings matched each other’s profile preferences. You came within 30ft/10m or so of each other. You invited a contact. They accepted. You get their e-mail address and you take over from here.

Q. What can you tell me about the people who are listed on Rendezblu.com? Do you screen them?
A. No, we do not screen users or conduct background checks since we do not collect any personal information. They could be total freaks or genuinely nice people looking to meet others. What we do know is that they were physically near you, within 30ft or 10m, at some time in the past, so chances are you were both doing about the same thing at the same time. All we do is allow you to initiate further contact via e-mail if one side accepts the invitation of the other person. You should always use caution and common sense when communicating via e-mail. Do not disclose personal information like your full name, address, or other personal information via e-mail without ensuring you really know the other person. If you decide to meet, you should do so in a public place. Please review our Safety Guidelines.

Q. What role does RendezBlu.com take after I contact someone via their e-mail?
A. None. We only enable initial contact. Once we provide you with the e-mail address of the person you invited, we are out of the loop and you are on your own to communicate as you see fit.

Q. What does the RendezBlu phone application send to the other phone? Can they use that to trace me? Can the application access my personal phone book or read my cookies?
A. We do not send personal information across or access any private areas of your phone. We only send your userid and other phone identifiers (not the phone number) to be able to link contacts online. We only access information written by the RendezBlu application and no other data is read or accessed.

Q. What phones are compatible with the RendezBlu application?
A. Currently we only support Symbian S60 3rd edition and Windows Mobile Version 6.1. iPhone and Android operating systems are under development.

Q. Can I trust the pictures I see on RendezBlu.com?
A. Anyone can upload a picture of anyone else and we can’t possibly control that. You can still use some common sense. If the profile says the person is 45 years old and you see a picture of a 20-year-old, then you could probably guess either the age or the picture is not accurate. Pictures of famous movie stars or music artists are also dead giveaways that person is not truthful about their real appearance.

Q. I don’t see a picture for a contact, what gives?
A. It’s likely the other user has not uploaded their picture yet, they forgot, they don’t have a digital camera, they don’t know how to upload a picture or they simply don’t want to show their real face.

Q. Why do I need to upload my picture?
A. You don’t have to, but most people care about looks before anything else. Profiles with picture tend to receive more invites than ones with just a generic default picture.

Q. I see an inappropriate picture on one of my contacts, what should I do?
A. Simply click on the Report Abuse button (the thumbs down icon) and they will be automatically reported to us for further review and action. You can also delete them from your network if you wish and you'll never see it again.

Q. I did not authorize an accepted invitation last week and I changed my mind about it, what can I do?
A. Just go to the manage invites page, under tools, and you can authorize it.

Q. Can I delete a contact?
A. Sure, just click on the delete ( icon) and it will be permanently deleted from your network.

Q. I deleted a contact from my network, can they still see me on theirs?
A. Only if they also uploaded you. Deletions only affect your network. If they try to invite you up to twice, you can decline twice and they'll never be able to contact you again.

Q. I received an invite from someone who is not in my network, how come?
A. On selected phone operating systems, the RendezBlu phone application scans for other contacts every 5 minutes, it’s possible you gathered a contact and left before the other phone had a chance to run its scan. Profiles are only received. They are not exchanged, so the other phone can have your profile while you do not have theirs or vice versa. You still have the option of adding that contact if you accept their invitation. You could also have deleted them from your network, but they kept you on theirs.

Q. I declined an accepted invitation last week and I changed my mind, what can I do?
A. Just go to the manage invites page, under tools, and you can authorize it.

Q. How do the gathered contacts go from the phone to the web? How often should I upload profile?
A. You must upload the profiles yourself manually from the phone application. If you do not and shut off your phone (on older phone operating systems), all profiles are lost. It’s up to you when to upload the profiles, as long as you do not shut off your phone. Please note your phone carrier might assess a data transfer charge if you do not have an unlimited data plan.

Q. I started the RendezBlu phone application before going out and I don’t see any contact stored. Is it working properly or what does it mean?
A. Either there was no match based on your preference settings, there was no one else running the phone application or you were simply out of Bluetooth range.

Q. How close must one be for RendezBlu to work? How long do the phones need to be in contact?
A. The application uses Bluetooth to communicate from phone to phone. The normal range is about 30 feet or 10 meters. The application only scans its environment every 5 minutes. On other platforms both phones must be running the scan concurrently. Transfers take only seconds. So if you jog past your dream date, it might be a bit too much to ask of us.

Q. If I exit the RendezBlu application on my phone, will I lose all my gathered contacts?
A. No, they will remain until you either upload them to the Web or shut off your phone (older platforms only).

Q. Do gathered contacts get uploaded automatically to the Web?
A. No, You must manually upload them.

Q. I don’t want the contacts on my phone, what can I do?
A. On Symbian 3x and Window Mobile 6.1 phones, you can turn your phone on and off. On others, you have the option to delete them from your phone. You can also upload them all to RendezBlu.com and then decide which ones you want to delete online.

Q. I see one gathered profile on my phone, but my friend’s phone does not show any. How come?
A. The RendezBlu application scan its immediate environment every 5 minutes, so it’s possible your scan ran before your friend’s or you have different preference settings. Given enough time, all phones should find all others based on your settings.

Q. How do I minimize the phone application when I started it?
A. Simply select the Hide option from within the application and it will run in the background. Some phone also have a default minimize key, please check with your phone owner’s manual for more details.

Q. How do the settings in the RendezBlu application work?
A. You specify if you’re a male or female and whether you want to store male, female, or both gender profiles. If you specify you are a female looking for male, you will not store a contact if they are also are a female looking for male contacts.

Q. What if I’m interest in meeting people of the same gender or I don’t care about the other person gender, can I still use the RendezBlu application?
A. Sure. This can be specified in the settings section.

Q. I have a problem with the amount billed on my credit card. What should I do?
A. Please contact us and we will assist you as soon as possible.

If you have a question not answered here, please submit your question and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
